This new collection of Nineb Lamassu focuses on love and romance; and the intimacy enjoyed by two passionate lovers.

At times we meet poems exploring the most intimate aspects of a love relationship, through risqué and erotic language, and at times we come across poems describing the pain of separation and breakups.

No Assyrian poetry has dared to explore love in such a way as Nineb Lamassu has done in this new collection. Thus Snakes and Apples is a groundbreaking work of literature and will remain a reference point for the coming generations of Assyrian poets.

This is the third edition of Nineb Lamassu's second collection, which is now published under the new title of '470'.

The first edition was published in Sydney Australia in 2013; in which the original Assyrian poems were translated into English and published in a single bound. The second edition was published at the same year in Nohadra, Iraq; this time the edition inluded the Arabic translation of the poems along with the original text and the English translations.

This third edition combines the original Assyrian poems together with their Arabic and English translations, along with a new preface and the addition of a new poem especirally for this third edition.

Thus making the collection in Assyrian, Arabic and English available for the first time oputside of Iraq.

Enh̬eduanna Publishing is excited to to let all those youth of ours that have an interest in writing poetry know: Enh̬eduanna Publishing will publish a collection of poems written by our youth. Our objective is to encourage our youth and pave the path before them so they would create poetry; and give them an opportunity to enter the literary field by carrying our literary torch into the future. Thus ensuring the  light to the lamp  of our literature is not withered amidst international literary circles.  This poetry collection will be under the editorship of Nineb Lamassu and its title will be 'Embers of Fire'. We will publish this collection for the 7 August 2016, thus in the memory of our immortal martyrs. Therefore, the core of all the submitted poems should focus on our fallen victims.  Every youth seeking to submit their poems to be published in this collection must email us  no more than two poems on the following email and no later than 30 June 2016:

submissions@enheduannapublishing.com

All youth seeking to submit their poems for publication in this collection must also abide by the below requirements:

1. All poems must be written in one of these two fonts, Assyrian fonts of Rabi Daniel Dawed Bet Benjamin and Dr. Eshu Marcus fonts, if you are writing in the eastern dialect; and Meltho fonts, if you are writing in the western dialect.

2. The font size should be eighteen with double line spacing.

3. All poems must be submitted in the following formats, Mellel or Word and must include a PDF copy.

4. All poems must be original works and not have been published before; and all publishing rights must be released to Enh̬eduanna Publishing.

5. Enh̬eduanna Publishing has the right to not publish any of the submitted poems without having to clarify its reasoning; although it is expected from the editor of the collection to use his experience as a poet to guide and advise our youth.

6. All submissions will receive a reply from Enh̬eduanna Publishing, regardless if the reply is positive or negative.

Awards
Enh̬eduanna Publishing would also want to inform all of our youth that it is initiating the granting of three awards and each award with a $500.00 monetary grant. These three awards will be granted annually. We have opted to name these three awards after three Assyrian littérateurs that have had a great impact on our contemporary literature, and these are the awards:

I. Malpanitha Katie Isho Award

II. Malpana Ninos Aho Award

III. Malpana Younan Hozaya Award

For this year, the Editorial Board of Enh̬eduanna Publishing will select three poets and poetesses from those youth whose poetry has been published in the 'Embers of Fire' poetry collection.

In conclusion we wish success for all of our youth  and we hope they will email us their poems because our poets of today were the youoth of yesterday and the youth of today are the poets of tomorrow.
